  1. Installation Over Water

Swing stage off the roof, it's going to be very expensive!
  2. Need Help Is there a pricing website that can guide me?

I'm in Canada as well, and I think it's too low as well. For basic wall graphics we are $12-14 sq/ft for print/lam and a basic local install (no scissor lifts and only basic prep)
  3. Small Acrylic Shapes Cut on Colex Sharpcut

I can vouch for this, I'm using 6mm thick MDF on my f1612 and the hold down power is amazing compared to the cutting mats. We have a regular job cutting 2"x12" pieces from 3mm acm, and with the mats I was having to hold them down, with the mdf they don't move at all.
  4. Need Help Is there a pricing website that can guide me?

Obviously without knowing anything about the job or your market it's impossible le to offer a quote, but for that size, with a local basic install ( ladders only, minimal prep work) we would be around $4k, design not included in that price.
  5. Arlon dog 4400 for wall wraps

I use arlon 4600lx and the matching matte laminate for wall wraps, but only for permanent ones. As far as price goes, it's a bit cheaper than 40c, but not much. Keep in mind that cheap films will shrink and look like garbage in 6 months.
  6. Pantone Connect Really Sucks

I'm surprised adobe doesn't just come out with their own library, sell physical swatch books, give a discount to cc subscribers and watch pantone reverse their decision. Adobe has a huge market share of designers and production people using their software, if they build it, they will come.
  7. Opinion Screen-printed shirts - Quality check on aisle 3

Yeah those are crap, send them back
  8. What materials to use for an outdoor placard applied to a cement wall?

Same, if I hired a pest control company and he siliconed his business card on my house I'd be pissed!
  9. Installation code of conduct agreement?

After seeing some of the sign installers around here I get it. There is a father/son team who look like they've slept under a bridge for the last 10 years, they light their new cigarette with the butt of the old one, and every other word out of their mouth is a curse word. I would never send...
  10. Discussion Anyone using Jestor software? (No-code/low-code app builder)

That looks really cool! My only warning is to make sure you can export the data from it, the Lifetime license model scares me from a business point of view, the companies that offer it usually end up going under or finding a way to end the contract, and your data is held hostage.
  11. What's your favorite drill bit for ACM?

Reminds me of my favorite dad joke " This is my step ladder, I never knew my real ladder"
  12. Review of the Roland LG-640

Why does that matter to me? If anything the Roland should arrive in better condition as it's not a mass produced consumer good.
  13. Review of the Roland LG-640

Send it back, Roland will give you the run around like they did with my VG 640, they will just send a dealer tech out 2 times a week to take a peck report, and do just enough to say the are "working on it" while the warranty runs out. If you bought a $2000 refrigerator and the compressor...
  14. Summa F1612 - cutting sharp edges - PVC / ACM

Our f1612 can cut up to 6mm thick PVC with the heavy duty knife, as long as the cuts are straight, any curves will snap the knife. We've found the single edge knife to be useless, it snaps if you look at it wrong. For ACM you need to use the router, I can't imagine any knife working well on...
  15. Question Help Identify this 3M Material

Is that a print, or is it something like Di-Noc? Di-Noc is very thick and is removable.
  16. AZ How do I go about getting jobs to bid?

This is good advise, we do a ton of interior wayfinding signs, and finding competent installers that can read a floor plan map and not look like they spent the night smoking crack under a bridge is getting more difficult. The installers around me that do interior sign work and dress...
  17. Hard Substrate for outside image

The stuff we get from grimco is horrible, the sheets arrive warped beyond belief, and there are so many voids in the plys. It's also almost twice the price of acm.
  18. question about subscriptions

Yup, Trotec who make some of the best laser engravers on the market have started to move to a web browser based software. They used to have a standard program and it was amazing, then they introduced "ruby" and it just doesn't have the functionality the old software does, takes 10 clicks to...
  19. Graphics Question

Yeah I agree, get some better images from a royalty free site like shutterstock, the decapitated donkey is a bit off putting
  20. Hard Substrate for outside image

There are a bunch out there, the most common would be aluminum composite panel, for ultimate durability 0.080" solid aluminum would work as well. Avoid MDO as the stuff they sell now is horrible compared to the stuff from 15+ years ago.
