I recently purchased a value jet and when I print the reds look more like a mixture between red and orange. Can anyone tell what I am doing wrong or point me in the right directions. Thanks in advance.

Change or use the correct monitor profile and click on soft proof under the view tab so you see your reds correctly.

I had the same problems with my roland and discovered that experimentation
with ICC profiles for certain media types and adjusting ink limit density was the
key to success in getting the reds I needed . . .
The profiles were much different for every media type !
Good Luck !

Make sure the rendering intents on Vector ,text & gradient are set to no color correction and use a CMYK color mixed instead of RGB.

Also check your temp settings on your machine, I had the problem with red and other colors until I noticed the temp settings was set to the minimum when I received it.
