Do they work okay? No problem with gorilla-type force, if that's all that's necessary...

I had a couple pair years ago and they do work for a while but the handles crack eventually.

If you can swing the bucks, buy a real grommet setter, they don't require prepunching the hole and are quick to use. I have some of the plier type tools (one is a snap setter) and they just aren't made well. Stamped out of sheet stock. I ruined a hole punch by bending the stamped handle in an effort to get the #@$!@# punch to cut through a lousy 1/4 of leather.
