LXI software and connection

i'll be using mainly LXI master plus software from signwarehouse on a graphtec plotter. when they asked me what type of connection i want i said USB, thinking that that is what most use. will i be ok using a usb w/ this software and machine?

I doubt the software will care. But since they are selling you the system, they would be the ones to ask.

My preference, since switching recently with my Gerber software, is to have the security dongle on the USB and my plotter on a serial port. My Edge printer is on an LPT port. That way they all get along very nicely.

I have both the dongle and the plotter on USB and it works fine.
