HI.
Does magnetic material lose its "stickiness" over time?
I have a small job that I'm doing for our fire suppression commitee.
I want to glue(or 2-sided tape) a magnetic strip along the bottom of the sign, then use another piece of magnet , in the shape of a triangle, to act as an indicator arrow that can be repositioned as the fire hazard rating changes.
So I have some scraps of magnet that have been stuck to the side of my filing cabinet. Some are stacked on top of each other, some just one layer by itself. They just dont seem to be real sticky any more. They have been there, some of them, for about 2 years. Not sure the thickness of this material. I've had this roll for about 3 years. I don't even have the box anymore, I think it was called Magnum Magnetics.
I did make some magnet signs from this material last week. They are still stuck to my fridge door in the shop and they seem OK. I guess maybe the larger the magnet, the more it will adhere to a surface?
Thoughts?
TIA.
