Just curious how many folks still have a dial up connection, and how many have faster connections....just a survey for our new website...(It's not up yet, but soon, I promise!)
Thanks for any help!!

even thugh a great deal of ppl are on cable or dsl.... the best websites are made for dial up and cell phone useage ..nothing more aggravating then to wait for a site to come up ...when all ya got to do is reduce some sizes before hand
in 98 I bought my 1st computer little used till I went cable in 03 will not go back to dial up
still faster a website loads up the better

Cable and DSL, both equally impressive until the power goes out . . .
Then DSL Is better, because it still works !

Reguardless you should try and K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid), because even on cable or DSL those high end graphics can eat up bandwidth. Keeping your color pallet very simple and your graphics simpler, your web site will load fast and efficently all the time EVERY TIME reguardless of conneciton (For those por SoB's still on dial-up or using two styrafoam cups connected with yarn)

I can't imagine anyone having anything less than DSL to do this business. Are you kidding me? Two times in ten years I've had to suffer for a week with dial up in between shops ("there's or mine") moves and such. With emailing 2 to 10 meg files back and forth with several clients....it literally would be impossible to work. I remember once when I was needing to do some "homework" for deadline. I prepared a file of around 5 megs. When I hit SEND ...the prompt came up "Time Remaining: 12 Hours" . I just went in to work 4 hours early and redid everything there....to save the client.
I'm now only doing signs about a third of the time....and I still wouldn't do without my cable speed.

Cable for last 2 years. I would close up business if I had to go back to dial-up!
