When I was searching for a wide format printer -I came very close to buying these FLAAR Reports, now I am in the market for a laminator and am looking into them again.

Anyone have experience with these reports? They seem a bit expensive for what they are - what happened to free information on the internet? And are they biased? Its my understanding certain companies provide these people with free equipment....

I'm sure other people have had the same question before – anyone break down and spend the money - I'd like to know how in depth the reports are and if they are worth it.

I am familiar with Dr Nicholas Hellmuth and FLAAR. My opinion is that the FLAAR reports are superficial at best, and at worst, biased toward manufacturers that financially support FLAAR. I've heard this from more than one printer manufacturer.

I too was thinking about purchasing a report from them but wasnt so sure about the info I wil get from it. And its expensive.

There's not much free information on the internet nowadays. What they call information superhighway now has a toll tag too.

You'll get better information here, or at the other forums. It might not be neatly formatted, and highly opinionated, but it is real info from the users.

I purchased a set on solvent printers a few years ago and was NOT impressed. I wouldn't recommend them at all. For a few hundred dollars one would expect a document that had real substance.

the trouble with them, no real world experience.....
It's nice to unpack a new printer and play with it for a week or so. :)

I can also remember when they were free.
