Hello ALL,

I am just getting into this vehicle wraps and have a need for vehicle outlines and have some jobs to do for modified and late model stock cars....anyone assist where I could obtain these ????? Maybe someone is already using something I looked at http://www.thebadwrap.com/ they seem to be the most used among the aurora graphics people..... thank you for your time in this matter.....

The most popular template collection is Digital Auto Library.

The second most popular is MR Clipart.

Both are vector templates showing 4 or more views with a fairly high number of total vehicles covered. Bad Wrap is a relative newcomer that has gotten a lot of favorable comments and Fellers is their exclusive outlet. My understanding is that the negative side of Bad wrap is the higher price and the relatively small number of vehicles covered.

None of these should be viewed as 100% accurate and taking double checked measurements to compare to any given template before designing or producing is strongly recommended.

Hey Taco, I prefer to take digital pictures of the vehicle (make sure that you take the pictures staight on). Take a few measurements (generally at a body line) > import them into my program blow them up until I get the same measurements. Design them in real size. It's also a much easier sell, if you can show your customer what it will look like on "their" car instead of an genaric outline. I have used the "Pro Vehicle Outline" as well, and it does what it's supposed to do. I just don't see the customers eyes light up like I do when I use a photo of their personal vehicle.

I really like my badwrap software but Fred is right…………. Measure and then measure again and the cost is high! I’m going to the Fellers wrap school next week. I will post a comment on it later!

You will not find a template for any of the circle track cars that will be accurate. I do some dirt cars and they are all differant even in the same class. I use pictures of the car as much as I can. All depends on how they hang the body as to what measurements you end up with. 5 Star boddies had a few templates at one time but I have not looked for a while. They are good to design on but not for cutting or printing from.

Most bodies used in late model and modified racing are very custom.

Late models normally share certain characteristics with the production models on which they're based, templating them would be tough. Each team will cut, modify, and shape the body parts to fit their chassis.

Modifieds are pretty much all custom work with a few exceptions--the roof and some noses are purchased. Many are entirely custom--the two in my family's race shop were hand-built.

So, as the earlier suggestion pointed out, measure everything.
