I Installed a decal on a window this morning, and I thought I would try some ActionTac for a change. Well that was a bad decision. I cleaned the window with some degreaser, (Rapid Prep) waited, then spraed ActionTac on the window as well as the adhesive side of the graphic. I set it in place, and squeeged it until it was perfect. Then I waited the two minutes that the directions said, and as I pulled slowly the letters came off with it. What the hell?

"What's my problem with application solution?"
Using it in the first place.
Did you spray the tape?

Let it sit a little while longer, then spray the top of the transfer tape with water, squeegee 1 more time and give it another try.

I wouldn't recommend using any app. solution other then plain water.

all of the above

ditto. Additionally, "Stickers" are slapped on, "Decals" or "Vinyl" is applied or installed. "Stickers" never, ever, ever need application fluid!

after you clean with Rapid Prep you MUST clean again with Rapid Tack, or I guess your Action Tack would work also....when it's squeaky clean then you can apply wet using application fluid.

clean with prep.. twice
Clean with Rapid Tac for cast vinnyl
Clean with rapid tac II for calandered vinyl.
Clean until you can feel the skin on the back of your hand drag and almost squeak.
If you want to do wet then spay some more Rapid TAc and away you go..
Then apply your decal.

Get into the habit of applying dry especially on glass. I know it may seem easier to use lube at first but once you go dry you'll never go back.

we use regular dawn dishwashing soap 15 drops no more no less in a quart spray bottle with two tablespoons of isopropyl and prefer over rapid tac side by side anyday.

I clean all my surfaces that I apply vinyl to with denatured alcohol you can get at any hardware store. Let it dry or wipe clean with a lint free cloth. Do this cleaning just befor applying the vinyl. Henry G

This was an unusual circumstance, where the customer was nutty, so I wanted him to make the final call on the straightness of the vinyl. And I usually only do my second or third layers wet anyway.

Where is Roger when you need him???????????

Oh wait he's BANNED!!!!!!!!! HEHEHEHE

You really need to install dry on glass on the 1st layer anyway............I would use the top or center hinge method.............

Under no circumstances should you use denatured alcohol for final prep before installing graphics!

Just so you don't think OP is cracking up, (Although I'll never recommend it) I was watching this guy detail a limo outside of the shop. After a quick wash and rince, this guy proceeded to "pour" Comet all over the finish and start rubbing. At first I was shocked, but then amazed at the finished detail. The car looked showroom new.
Also, when I'm working on a tough stain, one of the "tools" in my bag of tricks is Bon Ami powder. As it says on the label, it hasn't scratched yet.

i use ALCOHOL ON EVERYTHING I DO!!!!!!! but i just dont use the crap you buy for RUBBING ALCOHOL OR CHEAP $1 store stuff. most of it is 7% alcohol rest water and some have oil.
WALLY WORLD sell a QUART BOTTLE of 91% ALCOHOL!!!!!!!
91% alcohol and water THATS IT!!!!!!!!
100% ALCOHOL if poured on you hand will evaporate so fast you wont even get it from your hand to where you want to put it.

Did you clean off or neutralize the Rapid Prep? I've always had to clean the prep off with rapid tac really well before I could lay vinyl on a substrate, it seems to leave a residue behind (as does 3M PrepSol). That may explain it...?
