my draw program (Omega 2.1) to PhotoShop. Not everytime, but only once in a while. What could account for this?
Scenario: Compose sign as 4'x8' in Omega, export to desktop as .bmp at 150 dpi, open in PhotoShop and begin work. Get ready to save/export as .tif and sometimes,...only sometimes I notice that the image size has shifted. It's usually bigger.
Does anyone have a handle on this? And can help out a nooobie in PhotoShopping.

Try checking your resolution in both programs. You may be importing the file into photoshop at 100 DPI when it should be 150.

Well, I almost always export at full size and 150 when exporting as a .bmp. But where in PhotoShop is there a place where you can set, as a default, the resolution? I know you can check it in the Image size drop down dialog box.

Oh Gawd, honestly, I don't know. Now I gotta open Photoshop. Don't get me wrong. It is a great program, but I still prefer Corel and know it better than photoshop :)
I know this was a problem with Gerber in the past, but I really don't recall if there was a true "solution". When I was edge printing, I would adjust the file size to the appropriate scale.
You can change the default resolution in your preferences. In my version 7, it's under units and rulers.
Just a thought, what about starting a new document and setting your resolution to 150 dpi, then open the file you want to work on and drag it into the "new" file?

That might work, thanks.

The resolution must match between the originating software and the destination software, otherwise (especially PhotoShop) will resize it automatically. They measure pixels, not inches.
