Hi Folks,

I'm so used to 4'x16' work table, but now I run out of floor space so bad and I'm thinking about taking one 4'x8' out and only keeping one 4'x8' work table... Do you think it will be enough for the most vinyl\digital projects?

Thanks!
Stan

I have ( 2 ) 3' x 7' and I don't have a big operation, but I would miss not having them both. If they are in two sections ,that would be good so you could wheel one away when not needed. It all depends on what you're doing. And tomorrow may be different. Nobody here can really tell you what you'll need in the future....

I have a 4'x8', 3'x8 'and a 30"x8' in 12'x20' room and would get rid of any. You can never have too much horizontal surfaces.

I just made a 4x8 on casters, also have a 3x5 and a couple of the resin 30" x 8'. We use all of them, and you can't have enough layout space. If I had more room, I'd like to have another 4x8 exactly the same so it would be 4x16. However, the 4x8 seems to be adequate for us at the moment.

I had the same problem with space. I turned one table 90 degrees so that the 2 tables create an L. That works alot better for my floor plan.

A 4' x 16' is ideal for most projects but then again.......

We've got 2 4x8, 30"x8 and a 26"x8 and it's never enough. We set-up two folding tables 30"x72" once in a while as well. In fact, one is set up drying prints right now.

we have a 4X20 and never is enough, thinking abut making it 5X24 soon

also have a 5X16 "banner wall" that saves alot of time and space for alot of projects instead of using the tables

Hiya Stan,
What size vinyl do you normally cut, or what size is your plotter?
At one shop where I had a 15" Gerber plotter, I worked very efficiently with just a 4' x 8' and a 2' x 8'. the 2' x 8' had a glass top and was used for vinyl prep. The 4' x 8' had a MDO top with an acrylic overlay.
The tables ran parallel to each other and very well stocked for whatever the project was and I didn't have to do much running. If I can find the layouts, I'll post them later.

That's what we did. Just make sure they're all the same height. Our cut and tape table is 30" x 120" cover with steel 1/8 plate. Everything we have is on wheels.

I Have a small opp in my basement and only have a 4' x 8' and would love somthing longer but dont have the room, the last shop i was at had 2 tables
5' x 30' and a 5' x 20' and we used every bit of them for large banners and projects, plus if you have three people in doing production you need the space. that room was huge and it had everything and then some. the large format room was sperate and had a 5'x20' and a 4'x8' table on castors. Was with this shop when it was in two 2500 sqft warhouse units to a building that was over 12000 sq ft. You can never have to much space
