Has anyone used the Bad Wrap software program? Thoughts?

They have a sample file for download on the page that lists all the models they offer. (it's like 300 megs though).

It basically consists of four or five layers with masks and blending modes applied. If you're swift with photoshop you can do it yourself in 10 minutes with a picture of the vehicle your working with.

I happen to know the inventor of this product. You can make the templates yourself but it is a bit time consuming. GREAT TOOL for some vehicles but is limited to the number of vehicles in the collection. All in all great timesaver especially for the cusomer that needs to see something fast

We have been using it for about a month now also. Makes things alot quicker and looks better when you show it to the customer also. We were just using vehicle outlines before. We dont do a lot of wraps but so far the measurements are dead on.
We just got a letter saying that you can now send in the information to badwrap if you need a vehicle that is not in the software and they will make the template free of charge. You have to do the work on the measurements but at least your not just stuck with what they have.
Also not sure if it has always been this way but it is an external harddrive so you dont have to fool around with cds. Just plug the drive in and its ready. Big files though.

I just got the same document from Fellers today. They are asking us to do the hard part for them. If I gathered the information they needed I would build the template myself. I sure hope they are not planning on releasing the templates that the public is sending them. I do alot of wholesale work and if I used the measurements other sign shops and designers send me for my own stuff I would be reprinting all the time.

Just be careful with the lengths of the vehicles, the rumor on the street is that in taking photographs of the cars to digitize, enough care wasn't taken and there is some contraction in the actual length of the vehicles compared with the files.

From what I've found, I've only had to increase the size to 969-983%, instead of the stated 1000%. The bad wrap is very nice for creating comps, but NO digital templates replace the need to measure.

On a side note, the creator Sergio called me on Friday. He said he had seen my posts here and wanted to thank me for my positive comments. I really like it when I see vendors monitoring message boards like this. It shows they're interested in bettering their product or service to meet their customer's needs. Sergio also said that there was another update being released very soon.

We paid $900, but we bought it right after it came out. I'm not sure of the current cost.

We have it and like it so far, files are quite large, but belive with some practice that it will speed up things, and make better presentations to clients.

That is true! If you're doing wrap design and don't want to go nuts doing it, you need a hell of a machine. This is especially true considering the size of the bad wrap files. They're typically 200-300 megs each, BEFORE you start adding design elements.

I have used the download one just for review and to see what it might look like on a vehicle. I just ordered the full version from someone here that got it but is not going to use it so I will see how it does when I use it to wrap my truck.....LOL it looks really easy to use though.... just my input...... Will provide more feedback when I get more into it....
