We've printed several shirts lately using the Roland HTM material on the Versacamm, and several are coming back after a couple washes with the printed image coming off in places leaving white spots. It's not the transfer coming off the shirt...they're stuck on just fine, it's the image itself coming off the transfer. Almost looks like the image was rubbed against something rough enough to sand it off in spots.
It's happening to more than one shirt order.
We followed printing instruction and application instructions, and supposedly my customers are following the wash instructions.
I've e-mailed Roland and so far no reply.
Don't know what we're doing wrong.
Anyone else had this problem?
Thanks

I wouldn't say that you're doing anything wrong, its just the quality of the HTM media. It tends to crack and/or fade after a few washes. Try using a material like Colorprint II, the durability is much better.

Colorprint II or Siser material.

Thanks for the replies.
I do have a roll of the color print material, and I like it better, but it adds cost to the shirt.
When I gave my customers the option of the two prices, of course they have all picked the lower cost one which is the HTM. Most of them are giving them away to their customers, so it's not that big of a deal.
But....I have a customer that is selling them, and I don't want them coming back to them, and then back to me, after only a couple washes. They aren't getting anywhere near 20 washes out of them.
I'll look up the Siser material.
Thanks,
Tony

Give them one price no matter what material you print on. The difference is maybe $0.75 per sq ft. Colorprint and the Siser material will give you a nice product with better durability.
