I've noticed lately that no matter how much cleaners and removers
or any other products get used to remove the old vinyl adhesive
off of tinted glass there always seems to be a residual image left behind.
I've tried Rapid Remover, Citro-Solv, Alcohol, etc.
Has anyone figured out how to eliminate this residual image left on the glass ?
Or will it just go away with time ?
Any tips or tricks or product recommendations would be of great help !

Possibly you’re using soft water.... water that’s gone through a water softener. The salt leaves behind a slight residue that outlines the glue areas. Try using hard water and if you don’t have access to any hard water…. after applying your water to the glass in question…. throw some hard rocks at it. Guaranteed your ghosting will disappear. Rocks larger than your fist work the best. One shot and you're finished. :Big Laugh
Actually, I’ve seen what you’re talking about and if you’re going to be replacing the area with some new lettering, you probably won’t notice it if it’s not pointed out to anyone. The new lettering will dominate the area so much, it probably won’t matter.

I had the same problem once before, I cleaned it the best I could then up went the graphic. You could never even notice.
That image is left behind on most any glass. It's just that you see it better on tinted glass. It's got nothing to do with the tint, that's sandwiched inside.
It has more to do with wear and tear on the unprotected areas. As time marches on glass, especially auto glass is subjected to all manner of micro violences, sandblasting, scratching, etc. The area under vinyl is protected and will show differently.
There's not much you can do about it, just ignore it and carry on.

That's what I figured . . . just like the paint fading around the lettering on a vehicles paint job.
Just thought I's pose the question.
There's no stupid questions . . . Just stupid answers . . . Gino - just kidding - LMAO . . . !

Could try buffing it with a polishing compound.

Try a place that does acrylic work. There's a guy locally that does museum display cases. He joins to sheets to make an edge, adds some glue, dry and then polishes that thing to complete smoothness. When he's done, it looks like that corner was cast.

What do you mean :help: ?
I'm not saying to make your window out of acrylic. Get somebody to buff that window. It'll look brand new.
