Never have used liquid laminate, but film laminate will far outperform any liquid laminate in regards to abrasion resistance, and likely UV resistance as well.

It depends what your doing with it, I have prints out there from 8 years ago with a liquid laminate and they still look good

I've used both on many occasions and film is far superior than liquid IMHO !

film is superior to liquid for abrasion and UV.
However. There are many instances where long term is not needed or even desired.
For example. Short term banners and yard signs need some protection. But you certainly do not want them to last more then a few months.. A perfect match for liquid.

Interior work out of the reach of sticky fingers need no abrasion resistance.
Here is another where sliquid will work perrectly.

Vehicle Wrap= Film Laminate.

Reasons are many, not the least of which is its ability to take the heat necessary to wrap complex curves etc..
