We have been using Sihl 13 oz 3107 matte banner media. The last 4 rolls we received were bad. Dents and buckle problems.

Anyone have a suggestion on 13 oz 48" media in matte other than Sihl, need something asap, we have 18 4x8 banners due in a week.

Thanks

Avery Jupiter is available in 48" 13oz. Sign Warehouse stocks it. It prints as well as anything, just be careful of Avery's canned profiles, then tend to suck. I print it with an Oracal 3651 ultra ink profile and it prints perfectly. Your mileage may vary.

To be real honest, there's not a whole hell of a lot of functional difference between the 10oz and the 13oz except for the price. Both materials pack exactly the same longevity specs. I would expect actual the usable life of either to be within minutes of each other.

I've been using the 10oz for years, it's a lot easier to wrangle and I have never had a problem with it. Including a whole lot of banners that have been up in rodeo arenas for some years.

Not sure if it's available in 48", but I've been using 13 oz. UltraFlex for a while now, and like it quite well. Prints REALLY well IMO.

Grimco sells Avery Jupiter which prints very well.

Will try the Avery and check on the Ultraflex. Sihl has been real crappy lately.

It sucks when you come in in the morning and half the banners are not sellable

Thanks

The last roll of Avery I bought had tons of threads hanging of the ends.
Spending way too much time burning them off before each print..... No more
Avery for me!

I will rather burn threads than have head strikes, the Sihl material was horrible. 3 out of 3 bad!

Arlon has a very nice 13 oz outdoor economy scrim banner that works well on all platforms. Very consistent, our customers have been very happy with the product. Email or give a call if interested!

I have 4 pieces (2" x 48") of coroplast that i banner taped together, I slide it in the back of my machine (converted fj-52) to hold down the banner material just as it is fed into the printer, this keeps the banner nice and flat as it feeds in. Haven't had a problem since.

13 oz and a head strike? set the head to high. Or find a better distributer that is willing to check the stock.

Well, I have to eat my words about never buying Avery again. I needed a
48" roll yesterday, quick, and not one of my regular suppliers, except for
Signwarehouse, had anything in a 48" roll. I complained to my rep at Fellers
and his solution was to try to sell me a 62" printer. Yes, Fellers is going to
start selling equipment now. Anyway, that kinda pissed me off. I had to get
the Avory from SW. I see that a few Merchant Members offer a 48" material,
but from SW I get next day free delivery. I know that there are a lot of 48"
printers out there, I don't understand why 48" material is so hard to find.

"Yes, Fellers is going to start selling equipment now."

I just heard that from my service tech last night. Graphtec printers, Valuejet 63", and Seal laminators. Must be for their Bad Wrap direction.

Yes it is, looks like they are hitting it hard on the wraps. Just look at the new catalog with a wrapped Ferrari !
