Does anyone do this?
What are the pro's and con's?

I do..

The rip runs a little slower, but none the less gets done.

All the time.
Print time is print time and will go the same speed regardless of other things going on. When you have lots of jobs to do, it's always nice to have them totally ripped when the previous job is finished.

Once you send a job...rip the next and rock and roll!

RIP time is generally down to just a few seconds anyway - I don't worry about it... Takes longer to manually do stuff, when I could be loading the next file.

If I'm doing multiples/don't know how many, I save the RIP file so they're identical.
