Ok. I've done lots of vinyl, but I've got a customer who wants me to cut him a paint mask of some flames for a truck. How do I apply it? I've cut some from a sample piece, but when I used my regular app. tape, the tape was stickier than the mask film. Do I use a low tac tape? HELP!!!! Thanks.

I use regular tape and don't have a problem.

well theres a few ways
in this case on a truck
does paint mask conform to curves or angles if so great
you can apply dry and peel away painted areas
if apply wet... need to let rest atleast over night so areas under mask dry
you can use tranfer tape but peel away painted areas after applyed
a 2nd person for larger areas helps without transfer tape
be carefull in small areas
wraps r kewl

Never had a problem like that. I would never apply wet for one thing....Is there wax possibly on car ? Substrate must be very clean .
dont apply it wet, even overnight there is still going to be moisture underneath the vinyl mask and it will escape out the sides and when you spray on top of that...well you get the picture. Believe me, I worked at a custom autobody all throughout high school doing airbrush work and that was a sin.
