I am using The Internet Treasure Chest and am very unhappy with there service to say the least. For the last year my email has been on and off along with my hit counter and site back up, that is just a few problems.
So I am looking for a new hosting company that also offers upcharges for different sizes and the ability to show color swatches along with a template based program to build the site from. Keep in mind I have limited knowledge about website development so I am not sure exactly what alot of the terms mean SQL, PHP and so on. So any help would be appreciated.
I do know I would like unlimited pages and unlimited products as I have about 200 products on the current site and am planning to add more plus looking to start another site with other products.
Thanks and look forward to the help and ideas of others.

They were actually pretty good at the start. A friend of mine started with them and saved me alot of BullS&%t extras that I did not need and the price was good. But at this time I have just had enough and need to find a new company.

I use HostGator.com
Been with them for 5 years now.
LOVE it.
I have the Swamp Package, and they host:
www.GameMasters.com
www.ZombieMall.com
www.CheetahSigns.com
www.DarkBlueWeb.com
www.WizardIncorporated.com
www.HardinHouseShutters.com
I get:
1,000GB of space
Unlimited Bandwidth
Unlimited AddOn Domains (which is kindav bad because I keep registering more URLs)
Unlimited POP3 email accounts
CPanel and tons of more goodies.
All of that for $12.95 a month.
The downtime has been, gosh, I can't think of when my website(s) have ever been down.

Brian, I will take a look at them. It was also suggested to me to check a company call 1and1.com

I used to be with HostGator and was pleased with the value and the support. I only left because I was ready to have my own server and they are really geared to hosted shared service.
I have my domains registered with GoDaddy and have to tell you that for a big outfit, their customer service is outrageously good. They offer a number of hosting packages and might be worth looking into as well.
FWIW, I looked at 1and1 when I was shopping for a server and found a lot of negative posts at a couple of forums about them.
I personally think that servers are an incredible bargain as compared to other costs of doing business. We get our server at the Planet.com. Their entry level server with upgraded OS and cPanel is $109 a month. From there install free open source Zen Cart and any free open source content management application and you have most of what you need. If you need someone to turn to for a lot of the technical stuff, I recommend Platinum Server Management for $19 a month. Your store database and other goodies can be backed up on a daily basis just by setting up what is called a cron job in cPanel. The benefit is that you have lots of room to grow and nobody telling you you can't do this or have access to that. And you can have all the sites and all the databases and all the email addresses you want.

I own a hosting company as well, and we're not expensive but we're not super cheap, oversold hosting like the others either...
I do $100/yr for most of my hosting packages :) Let me know if you're interested...

Anyone with $20 and a reseller account "owns their own hosting company"!

If you're looking for simplicity, for as long as they still exist, Yahoo has a very simple to use interface along with 3 plans (Simple, Business, and something higher) I use them for my church due to ease of use and not always knowing who would be around to update it. My mother-in-law used them for her business and went with their intermediate plan for Merchant purposes. It was fairly simple to use and relied on templates to choose from. (http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com) Now for my personal projects and business, I like to be in control so I don't use them and went with geckofrog.net.

I use network solutions. Very reasonable. Sure they cost a few dollars more up front. However, in the long run you get a pretty good deal.

I use Shoppal.com for my tee shirt biz. Their tech support is great. And, building a website is very easy. If I could do it, anyone can do it. Check them out and see what you think.
