I recently installed a "new" 4'x6' can.. everything worked when at shop and after installed. 1 week later the bottom 2 of 4 bulbs quit - they try to start though. Do I pull the ballast, and send it back to the manufacturer or do I have any recourse? I don't see any shorts at the tombstones.

Check primary line voltage to make sure it's not too low (cause it will do that). Then replace the ballast.

did it rain during that time? We've had cabs leak from the top when DOH! we forgot to silicone the lift bolt holes and had a similar issue. But then of course we have also had low line voltage and bad ballasts on more than one time.

Thanks Yall' - I didn't think about the voltage. I will test it... and no rain. I simply installed the cabinet and let them get their own electrician. Thanks again! I would have rather been sitting in my underwear designing with a beer in my hand... but those electrical signs sure do pay the rent.

check the wiring. Sometimes it just loosens and makes a bad contact. Trace them from the ballast to the pins. If one end goes loose that whole circuit will dim.

1st check the lamps, then the sockets. Last your tranformer.

Well Tommy did you get this fixed? If so what did you find the problem to be? It would be nice for future searches!

If their electrician wired it, did he check it out ?
