spot color registration

I am printing some decals where the whole is to be raspberry with gold scallops and letters as the "top layer".
Can I prevent the vinyl showing through between the two colors?

This is accomplished with various combinations of chokes and spreads, traplines, overprints, overlaps, strokes and cutpaths. The approach is totally dependent on the nature of the artwork, color combinations and a bunch of other considerations.

It would be helpful if you provided a visual if you want specific advice.
