OK, it's the 2nd of April and my curiosity is killing me. Tell us what the big news was/is. Did vinyl prices drop even with oil prices rising?
Are they going up?
Did one of the big players make some major changes?
Did Avery screw up again?
Did solvent printers get banned by the EPA.

I must be so out of the loop. I always get the the hot, happening news a little later than everyone else. But that's all changed now that there is Signs 101.:thumb:

OK a couple of people guessed right. The actual press release is at my office and won't, therefore, be posted until Monday.

The press release announces the demise of Oracal 851 and the upgrading of 751 to cast vinyl. It emphasizes low pricing.

My caveat to all concerned is to be careful to avoid dealers unloading 851 or non-cast 751 at pre-change pricing. 851 should, IMHO be priced to be no more than cast 751 pricing and old 751 should be discounted because it is now a discontinued product.

My take on the situation ... and I haven't seen the pricing ... is that Oracal is capitalizing on the Avery A8 problems and the recent round of price increases for both Avery and 3M.
