Help for Colorspan 98UVX

HI,

I have bought a Colorspan 98UVX from United States to import in France.
When I boot, Ihave the code: 0220E002 Carriage Encoder Error.
Can you help me to resolve this problem.
What is the IP address of the machine for running with Videonet?

JJ, Have you contacted the people you purchased the unit from? If not, start with them as there are not a huge amount of Colorspan users on this forum. I have a Roland and if it is anything like that it appears that there is something wrong with your encoder strip. I do not even know if the Colorspans use encoder stips though.

??encoder error?? Did you try cleaning the encoder strip?

There is no IP address for the videonet. you need a independent card running the videonet protocol and it will automatically recognize the printer.
as for the encoder error, it could need cleaning or it could be an error due to static electricity. Make sure your ionizer is on and everything is clean

That's what I was going to suggest, it sounded like the carriage wasn't mounted properly so the carriage encoder strip was feeding properly into the encoder reader on the back of the carriage.
