will these sign material cutters cut material for embroidery?

They will....however I believe it to be somewhat hard on the machine...you should also cut with a 60 degree blade...I suggest applying some of the clear backing to the backside of the material before cutting...makes it a bit more sturdy during the cutting..works pretty well. good luck

I prefer using the Roland or Graphtec Pro Series cutters whent cutting this type of material. IMHO
