Contour Cut Problem

I am trying to contour cut a rectangle with text inside. When I turn on the contour cut effect, it puts cut lines around the rectangle and the text. Does anyone know how to turn the cut line for the text off?

Can you just select the rectangle and apply the contour to it?

When making a contour cut look at Design Central there you can set the Offset, then check the box With holes if you want the text cut out if not uncheck the box only the rectangle will be cut.

if i'm using a oval or rectangular backgroung i select the background only and then select contour cut and set to -.005 and it cuts just a hairline into the edge of my backgroung to eliminate white margin unless you want to have some white on the edge.
