I'm probably, or should I say unfortunately, the only one using Anagraph Designart 2000 on this forum. If there are any others, have you experienced any problems with this software, in specific : Anada 50. exe pops up when plotting and this error message continuiously closes the program. Tech support has been unable to fix problem and was wondering if anyone has experienced this. Thanks for any replies.

Sounds like a driver issue...

Try unistalling the driver and reinstalling it and also pausing all other printer drivers then try a cut...

Thanks,

Thanks Shaun, I'll give that a try Monday. The Ioline has a control center where you can change settings, but the software doesn't want to recognize the changes. Ioline tech support has been very helpful with a few additional tips that helped performance, but the software ????? The older version of designart 3.5 had an option box to change the settings, but tech support can't help with this new version and blame the plotter and on and on and on..... I recently installed Corel 9 and signtoolssoftware is in the mail, so the anagraph soon will be no longer. Thanks for posting Shaun.

I am wondering if anyone knows if anagraph 3.5 will now work with windows xp. I heard they were working on this.

If you upgraded 3.5 you would have designart 2000.I don't know if there have been any updates since then, as I don't use this software anymore. 3.5 was stable and I liked using it, but 2000 on a windows 2000 was real buggy for me, and tech support at the time could not solve the problems I was having, so I switched software.

My boss still uses DesignArt 2000 for mostly everything(on windows XP) and I still use it for vectorizaton because it does a great job on B&W images and also for the occasionaly curved text.... other than that I hate it with a passion. It has been completely unstable and buggy not to mention counterintuitive and it handles text poorly at best.

I layout with Coreldraw12 and use SmartCut Pro to cut to the ANA AE-70 i use, it also works with the AE-75E my boss uses. I say dump anagraph and go with smartCut or that flexi that everyone seems to be using...

I have Anagraph DesignPro 3.5 running smoothly on Windows XP. I provide Technical Support and other contract work for a business here in West Georgia, and I have had Anagraph DesignPro 3.5 running successfully on the office computers for the past year. All of his computers are now upgraded from WIndows 98 to new P4 computers running Windows XP SP2. Everything works great. If you are interested on how to do this, please send an email to rsreid (at) gmail (dot) com. I'll respond ASAP.

Thanks,
Robert

After 20 some odd years I've finally done away with DesignArt and gone with Techmans recommendation to design in Corel and plot from CoCut...

No more headaches.

....After...dang, can't remember how many years of using DesingArt, 3.5 version, which I still LOVE and use...I am working with Vinyl Master Pro....only as I have had to upgrade to XP PRO. Interesting program-BUT the Plotter Dialogue Box/ANAGraph terminology, is very non-descript and LACKS HEAVILY, multiple options. I have seen a member of Future Corp post here......as follows: Shaun Morrell
FUTURE CORPORATION LTD. This is their software.
The program has quite a few more options and tools which I like....but the plotter cutting options is BUGGIN' ME BIG TIME. I can cut stuff ok but very restrictive parameters. If you read this Shaun....please respond. Would like to be at PEACE with this issue. Any and all help IS GREATLY APPRECIATED....Oh and by the way the Sentinal Medic patch does work so anyone can use 3.5 in Xp...but no plotter at least for a Graphtec 90A...And lastly would have upgraded to DesignArt 2000 if not for the INSANE upgrade cost!!!

DesignArt 2000 was a joke!, as they quickly found out. I still prefer the ANA 3.5 as my plotting software. Call me a caveman, thats OK, you'll be right! If it aint broke, dont fix it! Its still a moneymak'n workhorse!!! PERIOD

If you upgraded to designart 2000 you would have wasted alot of money, be thankful you didn't. 3.5 was real good, from there I don't know what happened other than my experiences I posted here about the support and never fixing the problems.

We got DesignArt 4.0 and it works like a charm.... and on XP, I might add.

Have 2000 also, it was a joke that shouldn't have happened.

ColorDoctor
06-01-2007, 12:11 PM
..........4.0..........??? That one slipped by me big time! Have never seen any advertisement on it. What's the diff?? The only thing that 2000 had that I wanted was a crispy vectorizing program. AND YES 3.5 IS A TRUE WORK HORSE.....other than the floating point error from time to time. Speaking of which, accidentally saved a large program with one in it......now refuses to open the file.....(:-( !!

SignosaurusRex
06-01-2007, 12:25 PM
3.5 and 4.0 are exactly the same (according to Anagraph) except 4.0 works on XP. Your 3.5 has nice vectorizing capabilities! I use mine all the time! The floating point error is usually too many open traces or broken duplicate traces. Files that display the "Floating Point Error" can be exported as an AI. or EPS. and then be imported back into ANA and that will eliminate the "F.P.E.", however, you will loose all of your attribute information (font size, spacing, etc.) for that job so you may want to record that info on paper.

ColorDoctor
06-01-2007, 12:51 PM
Have been trying to export the file but the second I open it, which I have to do to export it, the Floating Point Error box comes up and makes me close the entire program. Ideas??...........

SignosaurusRex
06-01-2007, 01:21 PM
Sorry, That one I dont have any brights about. Usually, If I get an F.P.E., I'm able to close all programs, restart the computer, open ANA and the desired file, then immediately export the file.

Gino
06-01-2007, 01:32 PM
Yeah, that file is corrupt and ANA won't let you do a thing...... believe me, it's probably lost forever......

SignosaurusRex
06-01-2007, 01:51 PM
Don't discard the file yet. I'll check with my ANA Genius buddy about that! Might take a few days for a response on it though.

ColorDoctor
06-01-2007, 04:01 PM
....I think that since I clicked 'yes' when closing that file as far as saving the changes it permantly embedded the error so no matter what it will never open fully.....my trigger finger blewit big time.... That begs the input of a VERY serious techy to fix....oh well....

.....hmmmmmm...just thought of somethin'...on that 4.0 version...I wonder if the drivers would have worked in XP for my plotter as well even though Graphtec Corp sais they did not support past Win2000. I have long since lost my install disks, which were all just upgrades from the very first version....5.25 floppies-yikes. If anyone has the 4.0 running on a XP Pro sytem could you check and see if you have a Graphtec 90a driver in the drivers box. Just curious........:Cool 2:

Hello! I've a great problem: my Anagraph key is suddenly broken! I've a lot of job save in .jbs extension file and now it's impossibile for me to export it in another kind of file! i think there are 2 solution: 1- a .jbs program converter (i've serched it but i think doesn't exist) 2 - I need a new key

p.s. my software is Anagraph DesignArt v 3.1

Please help!!!!!

ColorDoctor

....If your dongle still has the 'wrapper paper' on it that ANA put on...peel it off and look at the make of it. Generally they are Sentinal. Do some 'google' on the maker. When you say 'broken' physically in pieces or when plugged in no response??. Also check for problems with that port. In addition look at the following URL www.safenet-inc.com (http://www.safenet-inc.com). They have the Sentinal type dongles in there. Atleast they 'might' have a direction or answer. Not sure if all the dongles given out were the same codeing or not. Worth a try....NOW I know I will be transfering all my files into .EPS.... as my dongle is from the very first rendition of DeSign Art.Good luck and post if you get some solid help!! And lastly there was a store in Fountain Valley CALIF that was still selling DesignArt software...as of March 07. Lost the link....grrrrrrr!!

ANADesign Art 4.0 supports your Graphtec-FC 90A.

I have both ANA 3.5 and 4.0, they are running on Windows XP, but I can not use plot jobs to device. Any suggestion?

Thanks.

I just read this section of the forum. Would really like to know if it's possible to get my Anagraph 3.5 software to work on my XP laptop. Was told I'd have to buy an expensive upgrade, and there's the problem of no parallel port to plug the security key in. Am I to understand from what I read here that there is a 'work-around' for this problem.
I would love to at least be able to design on Anagraph on my laptop as I used to do back in the mid-90's.

Thanks & Have a Great Day!
Jo :)

My understanding from talking to a few others, there is no work-around as you call it, that actually works. Anagraph does have a version 4.0 upgrade that is XP compatible (roughly $400 if I remember correctly). As far as an adapter for the parallel port dongle, I don't know.

We have two parallel port dongles
wants serial number
and migration version

Keys have serial numbers on them , only six characters long

blanks for serial number on popup is 2 groups of 5

any help appreciated.

There appears to be no more anagraph support out there?

We now are using signlab for the past couple years , just use anagraph to export to eps old jobs.

Thanks in advance

I opened my old Ana DesignArt just the other day to use one of my old fonts that were made specifically for it only. I'm able to copy my text or design and paste in Corel so I keep it on my computer for oddball occasions.
