One of my vendors sent my ss2 instead of ss21 inks for my JV33
Is there a huge difference
Can I use them, change the chips etc.
If I do use them will it affect my warranty
Thanks in advance

Welcome Eyesigns! I am in Tulsa.
I don't know anything about the Mimaki, but I would call my vendor and get the correct ink.

Hey all,
Normally I would just call, problem I am needing the ink this weekend
I have to have qty 4 5x20 foot banners come monday morning at 7am
I have quite a bit of ss21 but not enough to do them all. So if I cant use them them a different route can be taken..
Its for a photo backdrop, white or green screen can be done as last resort.
And before I get a comment about having enough ink on hand, I just found out about it yesterday and had a local vendor deliver the inks today.
I was home sick and called the order in, otherwise I could have fixed the problem when they arrived
I went to work to send some to print and just found out it was the wrong ink
:thankyou:

Why don't you google it, or look up some info on Mimaki's page? I've got a Mimaki, but just always had SS2 inks.

I strongly doubt it would be wise to use 2 different inks.
If there is any way possible to get the correct ink, by throwing a few hundred dollars at this problem.... that is what I would do.
If you have the ink flushing cartridges & want to drain the entire machine, flush it & load it entirely with the different inks... that is the only way I would do it.

I think I am just going to tell them to white screen it then.
LOL youre the reason I couldnt use Isigns as my name
Thansk for all the responses, Ive called my local vendors and they are all closed for the weekend. I have a call in to my tech support he sometimes forwards his machine to his cell, but who knows? When I know the answer, I will pass it on
Thanks again to everyone

I have a JV3
Just wondering if any one has any information to help me.
Has anyone used the Mac Tac Street wrap vinyl that is used on cement and or bitumen.
Are there any other products the same.
Any issues with indoor and or outdoor floor vinyls.
Is floor graphics being used as widely as some say.
Thanks
Mick
Yep..show up with a problem..expect immediate results...go figure...?

We are paying big bucks over here for ink.
To Land two cartridges of ts ink is over $500.00 Auzzie Dollars.
Now they tell me we have to change to a new Eco-HS1 ink.
Anyone heard of it or using it. (same price)
Have not seen much discussion on bulk ink.
Plenty of systems and ink types.
but is it worth the change or is there too many associated problems.
Surely there must be a few users out there that are having success.
I mean if it is possible to use bulk ink your prints margins start to look pretty good.
Thats $2000.00 to renew my cartridges.
Must be another way.
Or What?

I woluldn't recommend using the SS2 ink in the JV-33, for the following reasons........
The SS2 ink is for a JV-3 printer (epson DX4 head), the SS21 is for a JV-33 (Epson DX5 head). I believe the SS21 ink has the same micron size (dye particle size) as the SS2, however the smell is slightly differnet, which leads me to think the solvents are different. This could casue some colagulation (spelling?). I don't think the chips would not be recognized on your JV-33. Unless you want to turn your investment (printer) into a science project your better off delaying the jobs and get the right ink.

PS- For the Aussie fellow, Triangle INX has a bulk solution for the JV-33, and JV-5.
