I DIDN"T TOUCH ANYTHING..........
"Communications error....cannot open com 1 for spooling.......
My device is recognized and working.......can my serial cable go just like that?
It's about a ten year old Gerber serial.....It's got like 3 pins in the thing....
why couldn't I run a regular serial cable???

anyone have a clue why my serial port would be disabled if I haven't been in the BIOs??????

I used to run Gerber equipment with a GERBER serial cable......
I never had to change it......there should be no reason why I couldn't
get a regular new serial.....I was just in GERBER mode.
Everything runs now.....the BIOS thing still has me stumped.

I decided to check the BIOS and the serial port was "disabled".
The day before it was working fine.
It just up and changed itself.
