Do the foils from Apex, Duracoat and zero 9 all work as good as the Gerber foils in either spot or process. If they work better in one than the other could you please let me know which ones work better in which type of printing (spot or process).

Thanks,
Brian

Try buying these foils, the best i've ever seen... using original cartridges.

I would match these right next to Gerber foils.

ReKnown foils

You can buy from: http://www.print1usa.com/

They have their own version of protection guard that's better I think... even one with a shine.

prices are great too.

I found these guys because i was searching for alternatives and found that this product was just like Gerber in England.

Then I found this distributor here in the US

Give them a try, good stuff... I only use their foils now.

Here's a couple things to consider:

-As for chemical durability Apex, DuraCoat, & ZeroNine legacy foils will rub off very easily with isopropyl alcohol.

-Apex foils are manufactured by DuraCoat.

-Gerber and ZeroNine Nex-Gen hold up very well to a alcohol rub test.

-DuraCoat does make a very nice U/V guard foil that is chemical resistant.

-Gerbers Gold Medal foils is much nicer than ZeroNines.

Personally I only buy Gerber and ZeroNine Nex-Gen foils. I think they print a little nicer at Edge 2 speed & are much more compatible with solvent base clear coats.
