Illustrator Arc Cutting Problems

Master(s), Grasshopper need to learn

I'm trying to cut an arc of letters through Illustrator and can't get the letter outline to actually be in the arc. I'm trying to use Effects/Warp/Arc and then Creating Outlines for the letters. I'm still getting the paths not where the letters are. See picture. How do i move the paths to where the letters are so that i can cut the arced letters?

With it selected, click on Object Menu > Expand. This makes your modification permanent instead of being editable.
