Heu guys,
I have 2" acrylic spheres that I need to cut in 2 halves to convert them in cabochons(will become dots on I's). I bought balls because they were 1/4 the price of cabochons, plus I get 2.... only thing is I have to cut them nicely.
I have a sawbench with a decent blade, but no bandsaw. I have a co2 laser I could use for making a jig too....
Mind boggling!

Ok I found a way!
Anyone interested to know, here is the little jig I made to hold the ball. I put some double-sided tape on two of the tabs so the ball wouldn't start spinning. The rest was easy. Perfectly sliced in the center...

I just did something similar cutting an 8' long piece of 3" diameter pvc pipe in half....

I want one!!
(given the odds, half my future is bad news... I want a crystal ball to gaze into, where only the good news lives... shoot... which half should I get?)

I was gonna suggest a Karate Chop but it looks like you've figured it out.

I use a thin kerf, non-ferrous metal saw blade. Good for plastics and aluminum.
