Hey folks....any pointers how to come up with this effect?
I googled until the cows came home, but I don't think I'm even searching for the right thing.
Beveled? Embossed? I don't even know what it's called. I know how to create the drop shadow - it's just the rounded effect with lighting that I'm looking for.
Coreldraw, Illustrator, Photoshop...any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
You called it..... bevel. Play with the settings until you get one you like.

photshop, bevel in layer effects. maxed stats basically
corel draw, item->convert to bitmap->edit->plasticize
illustrator is mesh ... lots of playing on that one.
etc.

Okay well that's a start....now I know what it's actually called.
The settings I've tried don't produce anything close.
Any suggestions/links to tutorials?
Everything I've found refers to beveling corners.

Awesome, thanks. I'll give the first 2 a try and see what I can come up with.

Photoshop. Gradient overlay pink/red/pink with bevel emboss and a drop shadow at 180 degrees. This shadow is a little heavy though.
