Sorry to hear about your Dad. I know someday you will replace the tears with smiles when you think of him. I still have my Dad's shirt hanging in my closet and his briefcase sitting by my feet 16 years later.

Absolute dittos here - very sorry for you. My Mother died unexpectedly a few years back, and I'll always be thankful the idea occured to me to design her headstone. it was a very nice feeling to do it, and i don't mind saying she has possibly the nicest stone out there... you might consider it too.

I want to thank all of you for caring and posting. My dad has been around all my life, and I almost beat Him to the gate about a year ago with a major heart attach for which I have recovered from remarkable even to me.
Yes, my Dad was a character, having done many things and been many places in His long life, He was an example of a hard worker and my mentor, though not perfect, He was my Dad....He served with the Flying Tigers in the Burma area for a short while, and in the pacific theater, needles to say, the Japs didn't like Him, after WWII, he used His GI bill to become a printer, this was His income the rest of a good life, working the final many years at The Dallas Morning News, In Dallas Texas, I worked along side Him there for 10 years at night, sign man by day...so yes we had a good time together. He was a great pilot and taught me to fly when I was 10, yep, He did....I didn't have a choice, he took all hands away from the stick but me, and said He was not in the airplane....dang, I believed Him.
He spent the last years on our home place in east Texas and spent most of His time mowing and collect nuts bolts and screws at garage sales, flea market good deals. He was not a big man, but had a big personality, and yes of course he said he had don't it all, so was hard to top on a subject.
Having been around the world twice, he said he never found any place better than His home town to live....and die.
Thank You Folks so much.
Jack Lowry
