Are these outdated? I have an oppurtunity to purchase one for $100 but want to know if I can still get cartridges for it or if these are obselete.

The cartridges are still readily available. If it is in good condition you won't go wrong at that price. As I understand the technology is outdated and they are not cheap to operate but it is worth learning on, for that money. www.calcompgraphics.com/
