  1. US Tariffs, Sigh!

Nothing you showed supported that inflation is currently non-existent, nor that prices are not going up... you had even stated that your groceries are now costing less... (you even say they are "way down") Inflation may be at a relative low, but it is still well above historic averages, and...
  2. US Tariffs, Sigh!

Please feel free to post some receipts for same items from 1-2 years ago as well as a current one.
  3. US Tariffs, Sigh!

Okay, according to Google: (sorry, copy and paste... you could have done this too...): "In the USA, average prices, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), are trending upward, but at a slower pace than in the recent past. While the overall inflation rate is down significantly from its...
  4. US Tariffs, Sigh!

well, a year ago I could get a double cheeseburger, 4 nuggets, tiny fries and tiny soda for $5 before tax... now it is $6 or more before tax... Every menu item has gone up in the past year, mostly in the past 6 months... I raise all our beef, chicken, eggs, and pork - our shopping list is...
  5. US Tariffs, Sigh!

According to every search engine I have asked "are average prices for groceries in Webster Texas trending up or down?", prices in Webster Texas are going up..... of the 5 sources so far (You being 1, Bing, Google, Grok, and Yahoo....), YOU are the only one saying prices are going down.... that...
  6. Need Help Banding from file, not printer.

up the number of shades in the gradient - if you only have an 8bit gradient, there are only 256 different shades - up this to at least thousands if not millions of steps. the noise trick mentioned above works well as a quick-n-dirty solution that 99% of people will not notice.
  7. Avery Etchmark Humidity Nightmares

... or take a lesson from the old-skool offset printers. keep the shop climate controlled 24/7 (absolutely humidity), and then all media brought in rests for 48 hours to damp humidity fluctuations... if the media and the environment are at the same humidity level you will not have issues...
  8. Air Conditioning Solutions

I agree - but I have noticed a reduction in caring about employees and heat vs equipment and heat. Things like most other employees (few thousand) lose all a/c half-an-hour before quitting time... but the machines are allowed to stay 'comfortable'.
  9. Air Conditioning Solutions

I have had good luck using the machines performance specs - dig deep, usually there is a plot of machine effectiveness vs temp vs humidity -- to get our administration to allow heavy AC in our shop - we have over $500k of equipment and we can show that the temp fluctuations reduce the life...

and my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I remember it being very thirst quenching! (we did a lot of creative trades in the early years.....paintball, go-karts, motorcycle jacket, beer, food.... everyone used to need graphics - the Mac ruined it.)
  13. Discussion Who "owns" the artwork? ... a conundrum when AI is involved

I originally got into this business with 2 artist friends and we did graphic art advertising - no moneys for presses as broke teenagers. We had a good mentor who had worked for Sachi & Sachi - we basically just absorbed what he taught us. THE ARTWORK BELONGS TO THE ARTIST! Now, the artist...
  14. Does anyone print WHITE ON CLEAR ? ? ?

yes... but better to plot and weed white vinyl, if possible for the artwork.... the negative space will never be as optically clear as the glass (though some come very close.)
  15. Printing Glossy on Matte Black

plot and weed a roll of high-gloss laminate - the gloss/matte is a surface effect, you will not have to print any glossy black.... (the weeding may be a PIA...) (as is covered elsewhere, you can turn a frosted window (matte glass) clear with glossy laminate as well...)
