  1. Flippin' Illustrator keeps shutting down. Not crashing, just disappearing.

The DRM is what he's referring to by cloud. The app has to constantly check with home or things don't work.
  2. Contour Cut Sign to be Hung Outside on Facade of Building

Just screw treated lumber 2x4s to the wall and screw the sign to the lumber. Unless you're talking about individual cut out letters or something. But I cannot see the picture everyone else is talking about.

    Pixelated Sans?
  4. HTV issues.

Our supplier changed the material and the pressing specifications unannounced last year. The temperatures and times changed. Quite likely yours did too.
  5. HTV issues.

If the manufacturer says press at 330, then 300 isn't fully activating the adhesive. In addition, the temperature you set on the dial does not necessarily mean that the platen is that temperature, and it can drift over time. Most likely you've been underpressing your graphics for years and drift...

  7. They're takin our JOBs!

Because they are aiming for the optimal length video so the algorithms push it on more viewers, and to have more length of video in which to insert paying ads.
  8. Problem with getting old printers and new cutter to work together for print-to-cut

If Roland don't support older models with upgrades to software then you have to either upgrade your printers or switch RIPs to one which will, like Onyx.

  11. Sealing ACM panel signs?

You can get edge lifting on ACM with cast materials too. We have found that how you treat the cut edges makes a big difference. There is often a ridge on the edge from cutting, and if you don't sand that down before installing the graphics, it will trigger premature vinyl failure.
  12. Font Help Please

The image is a bit too low resolution to work well in font matching software. I tried for you. But if I had to bet, I would say that they are A&S fonts. Peruse their website and see. A&S fonts tend not to come up in font matching software or websites.
  13. Question How do you prepare your install crew for an install?

Whether you're a fan of it or not, the fact is that if you want things to flow smoothly and to get done right, without constant calls and hassles, paperwork is key. The job is not complete until the paperwork is done. I once read that in a toilet stall. It was true there and it is true in real...
  14. Nix Color Spectrometer

I've used it to do channel letter raceways on a few jobs and it's done well enough on that. When I first got it I checked its ability to identify Avery vinyl colors and it was spot on with those.
  15. Nix Color Spectrometer

I use the little Nix to measure colors of things on location, i.e. color of wall to match raceway color. Not sure if the additional features of the more expensive models actually are useful.
