  2. Banding and Bad Print Test

Definitely needs a new cap station. When you see one side of the color go out on the same channel, a replacement cap is needed.
  3. Choosing a - HP Latex 630W or Roland TrueVIS VG3-64 eco-solvent?

Your total cost of ownership is going to be less with the HP. It’s almost impossible to buy the Roland without having the extended warranty shoved down your throat. HP printheads are easily replaced and HP does not lock you out of the bios when it comes to repairs. Just my opinion after 25 years...
  4. Anyone tried/heard of retrofitting a Roland BN20/A so it can print magnetic materials?

Ok….how about this? Magnum Magnetics sells the sheets unmagnetized to overcome this issue. After printing and cutting they have a hand held and auto feed magnetizer (built by them) that lets you then magnetize the sheet or individual magnets. I first saw this work in a trade show with the Label...

Ok, your ink limits are way off. In Flexi, start at the 100% mark and look at the triangle part of the print. Keep going down ( To the left) until you see a difference in the triangle part. What ink are you using? OEM or aftermarket? Dampners are normally have a 2 year life span. A micro crack in the head manifold can let air in and cause nozzle drop out. If you only have 1 or 2 nozzles drop out you are at risk of damaging the head manifold every time you change the dampner. Ink...

  9. White Spots in Print

The problem is with the media. You have plasticizer migration which is causing the ink not to stick in those spots. Plasticizers are what make a vinyl soft and flexible. Normally this is caused by improperly and or old stored media.
  10. S80600 Bandning

We had the same problem with a Roland XC-540. It turned out to be the Roll was overwound and the machine was straining to pull the media off of the roll because of the “stick”. Try unrolling 6 feet or more off the roll and see if that cures the problem. It’s more common than you think and does...

  13. Black is printing green

Roland Service manuals recommend you change the capping stations every 6 months! A little on the aggressive side but we recommend at least every 18 months. When you see ink contamination on the same head between two different colors, it is normally because the "felt like" material in the...
  14. Drawing Ink Thru Lines

Try taking a small paper clip and insert the end into the rubber bung at the end of the black cartridge. In some instances, the needle on the machine does not fully penetrate the bung on the cartridge. I have seen this happen on some of the older machines. Do not use compressed air. You will...
