  1. UJF 6042 MKi blowing out X motors

We went crazy making electrolytics much smaller in the late 1980’s. the caps would leak electrolyte onto the board, and EVERYTHING ran hotter because of the ripple. we got a bit smarter in the way we produce electrolytics. I only use my ESR meter once or twice a month now, but it is still a...
  2. UJF 6042 MKi blowing out X motors

It’s so simple, it only detects 1 kind of fault, but, since we started making electrolytics so much smaller, they generally fail only That way.
  3. UJF 6042 MKi blowing out X motors

the reason i suggested my 30 year old ESR tester is you just look for meter deflection good capacitor meter swings to the other side bad capacitor almost no deflection 10 second in circuit test
  4. Avery Etchmark Humidity Nightmares

we have had intermittent overspray that we have finally (i believe) eliminated stopstatic.com was an incredible help (although not the complete answer by itself) we added static discharge cord as well as 3 ionizers
  5. Units of Measurement

mister gutman was smarter than your guy, he had nine fingers. my first job after high school was working for krauszer's a dairy store chain with a manufacturing plant my father was one of their top people, he had eight fingers, missing one on each hand nick krauszer was the oldest of 3...
  6. Units of Measurement

on the first day of "wood shop" in 1965, the shop teacher passed around a piece of wood, and everyone got a sheet of paper, an envelope and a pencil everyone was told to take as long as you need, it was critical to get an exact measurement... then you signed your name and sealed the envelope...
  7. Avery Etchmark Humidity Nightmares

add a dehumidifier (or 2 depending on theme size of that area). add a commercial humidifier for the winter. why the extremes at both ends of the spectrum? is the problem no insulation? I am surprised you don't have terrible overspray when you have static problems
  8. Dry white ink before adding color in Flexi? S80600

i wonder if the inks are mixing or diluting or if it is just the translucent properties of the inks
  9. S80600: new to eco solvent: minimal print or autoprinthead cleaning?

i am of mixed feelings on this certainly a printer that is kept busy EVERY DAY is much less troublesome and certainly the more agressive inks are more trouble. WHY are so many printers programmed to stop in the middle of a print to do a cleaning if it "is time"? as i have said air bubbles...
  10. S80600: new to eco solvent: minimal print or autoprinthead cleaning?

I think A LOT depends on what temp the office sits at (and what humidity ) during off hours. if you are still climate controlled it is more forgiving. a healthy cappingvstation with a perfect seal also helps. do your inks ever PULL BACK leaving air bubbles or gaps in the ink lines? I worry...
  11. S80600: new to eco solvent: minimal print or autoprinthead cleaning?

one of my favorite topics 2 years ago, my wife had a serious health issue hospitalized for quite a while, and still at this point, unable to walk unassisted i have spent practically no time i the shop for the last 2 years. we print sporadically EVERY DAY run 1 manual cleaning cycle. i print...
  12. UJF 6042 MKi blowing out X motors

am i incorrect they would draw current to stay in position AGAINST A LOAD? for instance if the movement was vertical and gravity acted on carriage weight. 1/2 amp is a fair amount of heat to "piss away" standing still. you mention a really good point, though, is this a situation where some...
  13. UJF 6042 MKi blowing out X motors

a continuous .45 amp of current DOING NO WORK should be producing a fair amount of heat. pit also needs to be disapated. There should be, to my thinking, a heat sync or the motor itself getting fairly hot. smoke jaguar would be able to answer this this better than I can, though
  14. UJF 6042 MKi blowing out X motors

i am a rank amature when it comes to mimaki, BUT we are not troubled by .45 aMP CURRENT with the motor doing NOTHING? seems a bit odd to me (could just be me)
  15. registration marks in Flexi from a different printer

are we somehow misdetecting the edge you would think the machine can "count to 10" is there an edge or material sensor (probably 3 inches from the edge of material) so it thinks it reaches the10 inch mark?

  18. Mutoh XpertJet printing grays with a green tint

it may be that you simply want to follow some of the threads & subsititute a color (grey) with eye dropper and whatever tool if you need (want) a proper grey where you can print a gradient (a grey stairstep) there is no getting around building your own profiles and scanning when you introduce a...
