I print out one of these for reference for each of my printers at value( usually profile off) to match the chart. Helps finding colors and knowing what printers can do, like my solvent hits greens better than my latex.
Why not make a guide?
Take a piece of pvc/ poly/ whatever. Do the radial method on that or print and apply a guide to and make a half or quarter circle that you can use as a curved edge to pencil or cut by. Kinda like a big protractor.
I've sometimes noticed on very long prints that a length discrepancy happens. Though I found setting the length to 101.7% worked, but that was my printer and this 3.7% difference. It might be the feed rate or tension, but a little math can adjust it.
You don't, you do it in Photoshop instead. In fact, dealing with Onyx, any gradient or opacity effect rips and prints better if its a raster, even if its a raster element in a Illustrator/PDF file.
Customer comes in wanting name badges, and previous maker has stopped because the machine broke and they don't want to replace it. It's engraved acrylic with this text. Closest thing I could find was "Sign Painter JNL" but not quite the same. I feel like it might be a font that's proprietary...
I just noticed recently that in Illustrator's settings, that you no longer allocate the size of the Scratch Disk. That is now determined by Windows itself. The default of which is set at 4gb. I switched it up to 20gb and noticed an immediate difference.
For windows 10 you can find it here...
Recent windows updates screwed over Onyx and couldn't get it to load past the splash screen.
Uninstalled it and tried reinstalling it. Froze and license confirmation.
Tried a few times. Same thing.

Onyx tech support, tried and same thing.

My best solution, I print out a color chart of what my printer puts out at that setting. I have an HP latex as well, with the attached I've been able to ballpark things quite well. And this can go two ways, one is with the profile. What color value you set in Illustrator or whatever, is the...
I got word straight from Grimco that it is the plasticizer on it. Apparently, the next newer printer model has a foam wiper for this stuff, otherwise it screws around with the Latex ink, but not the solvent.
I just recently had to switch from IJ35 to IJ35C (Comply Adhesive) for a large job needing a 60" roll, since apparently the supplier is switching over that way. Now I'm having an issue on my HP Latex 360 when running a long take-up job of these weird streaks of various sizes from inches to half...
HUION brands aren't too bad and more affordable, I picked up the 19" monitor tablet for a fraction of the wacom and get just good use, upgrading from the wacom cintiq 12".
