Im using a Duster 2000 and it works very well. Not only does it help keep your room clean it will knock all the smells down too. Id recommend it to anyone.
Who did you buy the printer from, Canon? Since it was used do you know if it sat around unplugged? Was it properly service for storage? Or was it unplugged, moved to your shop and plugged back in the same day? What issues are you having?

My advice would be to sell it and buy a printer that has reliable tech support. I currently have a 1380gt and getting service is extremely difficult. When you buy a new printer from Canon they expect you to be the service tech. Yes they will provide training but then they will keep calling...
I'd check the cutting strip too. I cleaned mine recently and it mad all the difference. Also like Adam said, check to make sure there isn't any hidden lines in your file
Ive had the same issue as well on one of my heads. Needless to say I couldn't get it to come back. Called for service and opted to pay a flat rate of 3,000$.. Seems like a lot but he replaced the damaged head1 and also replace head2 just because one color was missing a jet.. Buy your Tech...
I currently am using the 1380gt and we have a love hate relationship. Im having issues with cyan as well but I think it is the reservoir switch. Yellow ink on the other had has major color shift when used. I have also had bad inks but mostly with light magenta and light cyan. Canon sucks...
I've been having a static issue this winter even with a humidifier running at 45-50% with room temp @ 73 degrees..
I have a buddy that has the same printer and he has the same issues as well.
We both have the static bar option as well.
