Do it properly and get the stripes painted on ! you can always use vinyl for the circles. The car is gorgeous, so don't ruin it by having something less than perfect for the stripes.

I would check the bolts that hold the print head carriage to the bearing blocks behind and make sure the carriage isnt loose or has shifted at all. It could be the heads arent laying quite parallel with the cap tops. Also check the plastic plate that the head fits to is securely screwed down...

At least once you have a known good cutting head you are starting from a good position and can then make any tweaks from there. The problem with trying to chase problems is if the existing part has a fault it is often hard to find out why it isn't working properly

On the few occasions I get people asking for pantone colours or paint codes, I explain that exact colour matching isn't always possible because of the way CMYK inks work but we should be able to get fairly close. They have always said 'oh yeah thats fine then, I didn't need the exact colour' !!!
