  1. Looking to buy a laminator

This was our entry point into laminating as well. Works well for laminating graphics and mounting prints to substrates, easy to store under a table when not needed. You probably wouldn't want to laminate long banners but it's perfect for a 4x8 sheet or smaller.
  2. Automatic cut job is not working (barcode on top)

I don't know if your cutter works the same as ours but when we had a similar issue it was because the far right pinch roller was positioned too close to the barcode for the sensor to read the code correctly. Moving the roller out a bit did the trick.
  3. Paper-faced adhesive stock for labels?

What system did you end up buying? We've been looking for something to do that.
  4. Question source for retractable banner stands

We order these from SignWorld (display-wholesale.com) They have a warehouse in Pennsylvania.
  5. Hello, New here. Just getting into large format printing.

We bought thru a local dealer but if your looking at Grimco, Lexjet or others I believe you can call them and they can just upgrade the 335 to the 365 in the bundle with the 64" cutter. All the printers use the Flexi HP Print and Cut Rip solution. I would assume any Local HP dealer should be...
  6. Hello, New here. Just getting into large format printing.

The 365 also gives you the ability to print 5' wide banners with seamed edges if you need that and is quite a bit faster than the 315. If you have the money I'd recommend considering it.
  7. Hello, New here. Just getting into large format printing.

No, you print Side A to the take up reel then reload the take up reel and print Side B. The printer prints a mark on Side A and then uses the built in spectrophotometer to read the mark for positioning on the underside of the material when you've reloaded to print Side B. Vinyl banner material...
  8. Hello, New here. Just getting into large format printing.

Welcome to the group Justin. We're a digital print shop that added Large Format a year ago because we were buying so much out. I went back and forth between latex and solvent before settling on an HP Latex 365 Printer and Cut solution. Some of the reasons for the decision included simple...

  10. Looking for a "good" X-Acto knife?

Like you I've use xacto knifes for 30 years and I'm always in search of something better. I bought this a couple months ago and have had a good experience so far. Cushioned triangle shape, easy blade locking system, and blade cover. Definitely worth the $8.50 I paid for it. Fiskars 165110-1001

  13. Need ID help with script typeface

There's a great app for you phone called "What The Font" that's extremely helpful in identifying fonts. I use it a lot to identify different fonts. It quickly identified this as Remachine Script as well.
  14. HP Latex 315

We had a similar problem with double sided banner material. It was sticking to the platen on exit causing it to buckle up when it advanced, striking the heater unit. The sticking was evidently caused by condensation on the platen due to moisture release during curing. The problem was solved when...
