I don't think it was an FC9000 but someone here mentioned cutting heavy sandblast mask material by devising flat infeed and outfeed tables so that the material stays flat and doesn't sag when being fed back and forth so that the drag on the feed rollers is minimized.

I’m trying to figure out the advantages of an FC 8600 over an FC8000, other than just being newer. Why are you wanting to upgrade? Are there some specific worthwhile technical improvements? Thanks, Bob

I’m assuming that the ‘simulated” tangential cutting feature on some cutters isn’t good enough and we need actual tangential cutting? This is really helping to narrow down the list of potential cutters. Thanks, Bob

JB, thanks for your reply. I’ve looked at the Gerber GS15 Plus but thought I needed more than the 15” width. I didn’t consider tiling and maybe that works around the width limitation. I am confused about the stepper motor drive system. Thought it was less precise and mostly for low budget...

From what I’ve read Summa customer service is very good. Have you tried talking to them? Of course, the first thing they will ask is are you using a Summa blade.
