  1. Need Help VP 540i Distortion, Double Printing, Wavy Edge?

I realize this is an old thread but this problem was new to me. I have a Roland VP 300 that I have been using for years. I was happy with the print quality until this issue came up. Cleaned the encoder strip with alcohol pads CAREFULLY. This did not fix the problem but the print did improve...
  2. Best Brands of Reflective

3M 5100R works great for us. Very bright white reflective and cuts nicely even with laminate. Not great for wrapping because it is not designed to be stretched but nice for magnetic signs as well as highway signage. Have not had a problem with bruising or pealing at all on the edges. However, I...
  3. Printer "now processing" halfway through prints! Frustrating!!

Could be a problem with the main board. Many including myself have had this problem with Roland VP and SP printers. I have not heard of this issue with the newer Rolands but the only solution for me was having my main board rebuilt. I have heard that cleaning the encoder strip could help as...
  4. Roland VersaCamm VP-540, randomly stops printing with "Now Processing" message

I found these guys on eBay but they also have a website. They were fast to repair. Shipped out my board and it was back within ten days. You can see by the images that they replaced several components. They also warranty for 2 years. https://www.ebay.com/itm/264802446961 Brooks Circuit...
  5. Roland VersaCamm VP-540, randomly stops printing with "Now Processing" message

I had this issue for several months. Drove me nuts :-0! Tried cleaning the encoder strip, changed network IP's, ran new shielded cables, bypassed serge protector, turned off virus software, tried different computers, re-installed Versaworks and several other moves. I finally had my main board...
  6. Roland Peck4 tool needed very badly

Thanks Adam, I have been trying to get this for a while! So Peck 5 is also Peck 4 ? Jack
  7. ROLAND VP-540 Will not power up

I have a VP 300. Bought it when they first came out. Over the past several months I have had a problem with the machine disconnecting randomly, which ruins any print that I am running. I have tried several fixes but it really came down to a problem with the main board. I sent it out to these...
  8. VP540 parts

I usually get that type of part from us.digiprint-supplies.com but they are easy to find in general. 1000002794 ASSY,CAP-TOP XC-540 (roland part number)
  9. How to revert back to an older version of VersaWorks?

Hello Guillermo, Wondering if that solved your issue. Thx, JKstorm
  10. Need Help Network chip Roland VP540

I have been having this problem with my VP300 for a few months. Never had any problem until I changed the way my network was setup. Now the printer stops randomly and so I loose the print job when it does. Same complaint as many. I have two questions. Does the length of the LAN cable matter...
  11. print/cut alignment driving me crazy

I have a Roland VP300. I had this problem and it was definitely a hair line crack in the black pinch roll frame. Look at them with a flashlight and a magnifying glass. In the meantime a short fix is to use the extra rollers if you have them. The ones that you can slide in. I put mine in as a...
  12. versaworks missed a cutline???

I have had the same issue. I am using Versaworks 5.5.1 with Signlab 10 with Windows 10. I have noticed that if I send my print/cut images to Versaworks un-grouped the problem is usually corrected. I did not have this problem until I went to Windows 10 a few years ago. Increasing the page margin...
  13. VP540i Black test print lines a mess!!

I have to agree. I have a VP 300 and have seen this pattern a few times and you are likely going need to replace that head. A head soak may help but probably not enough, but it's worth a try. Your prints will slowly get worse as time goes by. I have gone through three black heads and have just...
  14. Pricing 420sq/ft of Vinyl Lettering

I always add in about 2 to 5% to cover mishaps. Bad cuts, wrinkling your rtape, power and computer failure, etc. The bigger the job the more likely something will go wrong. And yes as it has already been said, consider ALL of your overhead costs.
