Hey Rob, You should install the cutter in Signlab interface. Don't try it through VPM. In Signlab just choose File/install/cutting devices and select your device from there. Then go to Cut/Plotting Defaults and select your CG cutter driver then set it up how you want wrt port, page size etc...

You have to let it go right through the filling mode. You can disconnect the pump if you don't want it to suck ink through. There is a way of changing parameters to override it all and set the ink type, but I don't have time to try to find the info now.

I found on my JV33 that the belt going around the cogs was responsible for a lot of the whining noise. I cleaned the belt - got a lot of surface gunk off. Then sprayed lithium grease on the cogs and belt teeth. Much better

EPS files are sometimes iffy. Make sure it's saved to a local disk. Make sure it's not over multiple pages. See if you can import it into Corel. Try to rename it as PDF and use the pdf importer option.

You absolutely can use refurbished Epson DX5 heads in the CJV30. You will need to alter a few service menu parameters, if it's not already done. The fact that you have a gold nozzle plate sounds like it's an Epson head in there already. Genuine Mimaki have grey plates. The head you are looking...
