  1. Legacy Software that is ESSENTIAL for machine operation that is no longer maintained should be free. (Right To Repair)

See that's where you are confused, I try not to indulge in super consumerism, but also base many of my purchases off longevity / 3rd party support. Obviously I didn't do enough research on Roland and my vp300i but the fact is, anything that reaches EOL/dropped support should have all barriers...
  2. Legacy Software that is ESSENTIAL for machine operation that is no longer maintained should be free. (Right To Repair)

Those problems were hypothetical which I've seen multiple posts of cases that do happen. We obviously never will see eye to eye as you shill out for these anticonsumer practices. If I were to buy an older sp/vp series printer and the software is no longer made, that machine is now waste for a...
  3. Legacy Software that is ESSENTIAL for machine operation that is no longer maintained should be free. (Right To Repair)

The software is no longer maintained / supported, The machines that NEED this software to run are EOL. Otherwise deemed for the junkyard once they stop selling CDs, Versaworks 6 is free to download so why isn't 5.5? Because of their backwards "proprietary agreement" You are paying multiple...
  4. Legacy Software that is ESSENTIAL for machine operation that is no longer maintained should be free. (Right To Repair)

Hey guys, After quite a bit of hunting on the internet for a piece of legacy software that is no longer maintained, along with the equipment (VP300i) You would think they would offer the download for the software for free? Spoiler, they don't. These kinds of anti-consumer practices are what...
  5. VP 300i - Potential Dead Fuse?

Posting an update for those who have similar problems in the future! It was the print head unfortunately. I came to this conclusion after I tested continuity between the ribbon cables, fuses, and swapping the ribbon cables with known working heads. Hope this helps!
  6. VP 300i - Potential Dead Fuse?

Update, I swapped the Magenta and yellow cables, printhead still isnt firing, so im assuming that I did a big fuckup and the yellow printhead is dead... :( Im astonished that just from disconnecting it from sleep really killed the printhead so easily.
  7. VP 300i - Potential Dead Fuse?

Good idea, IL give that a shot after work today. Really hoping it's a fuse and not the head
  8. VP 300i - Potential Dead Fuse?

Hey guys! So recently I was doing some maintenance on my VP300I as one of the manifolds for the head were broken on the damper for yellow. Like a idiot, I disconnected the ribbon cables to the head while the machine was still "On" it was in sleep but it went right over my head to properly turn...
