  • Personally, I haven't shut down a printer for long term storage. However, I assume it would just be a matter of purchasing 4 cleaning cartridges and doing a complete flush of the entire machine's ink system. Once completely purged of ink you should have little worry about anything drying up and causing problems later. If you will be moving or shipping the printer, I would definitely use the lock-down bracket that originally came with it to make sure the head stays seated on the maintenance station. If you don't have the bracket I would rig something up with tape or zip ties to make sure it can't come off. Lastly, I would make sure to cover the machine with plastic or a sheet to help keep out dust and moisture. Be sure to post this question in the Mutoh forum as it might get you more replies with other suggestions. Good luck!
