  1. Mounting vinyl onto wood

I only use the one side because we mount vinyl to the other side. I'm not sure if there's a benefit to mounting onto painted wood vs unpainted.
  2. Mounting vinyl onto wood

Would you normally use 3mm or 6mm ACM for a 4x8ft sign?
  3. Mounting vinyl onto wood

we have one customer who prefers it and continues to use it. Most of my other customers have moved over to ACM.
  4. Mounting vinyl onto wood

When we produce wood signs, we print onto vinyl and then mount onto 1/2" MDO wood. We use a RTG (ready to go) wood with one side painted. We normally mount on the unpainted side so both sides of the wood is protected. For single sided signs, do you mount on the painted side of the wood or the...
  5. Issue with Graphtec CE7000 F-Mark2 (X cut)

When I try to cut a basic label (two rectangles) on my Graphtec CE7000, using the Cut without Crop Marks checked, I get an X across the rectangle. I cannot see any settings on iMark that would cause this. Does anyone have any ideas why an "X" would be cut across the label? Thanks.
  6. Vinyl lettering for a vehicle

Great advice, thanks. I appreciate all the advice on this forum. We do a lot of signs and wide format but vehicle decals/lettering are a very small part of what we do. In fact, we may only get a handful of requests for this type of work in a year.
  7. Vinyl lettering for a vehicle

Thanks for the suggestion Stacey. I have cast vinyl here and I can do the flame and cut on the Summa. I think my worry was mixing the two medias (cast for the flame and 751 for the lettering) and then having to provide them with some kind of alignment sheet like the squares idea that you...
  8. Vinyl lettering for a vehicle

The pounce pattern should do it. Thanks, Gino. Does the 751 material need laminating? Also, I was planning on using the 3M IJ35 for the flame portion of the decal.
  9. Vinyl lettering for a vehicle

Dumb question. How do you go about lining up this logo next to the wording so it's dummy proof for the client who will be installing it? The flame logo is to the left and the lettering is to the right. Normally, I would just give them a full sheet of lettering so they can apply it themselves.
  10. Vinyl lettering for a vehicle

I don't do a lot of vinyl lettering / decals for vehicles. I have a job that requires printing a 4-color flame logo plus white lettering (company name and phone #) and a second job with the same 4-color logo plus black lettering. What kind of vinyl would you run this on? For lettering by...
  11. Grommet size for ACM

I don't think we've ever adjusted the depth. We have a Sooper Ace grommet machine. We also have a hand punch one. -Thanks Gino. I will look into the long neck grommets as well.
  12. Grommet size for ACM

Would I need to purchase a #4 die to use these grommets?
  13. Grommet size for ACM

I have a grommet machine that I use for my banners and 4mm coroplast. The same #2 3/8" grommets do not fit well onto ACM. What kind of grommets can I use for 3mm ACM boards where I can use my same grommet press. When we try it with our existing grommet press, the grommets do not fit securely...
  14. Cutting clear decals on a Summa cutter

Ok, we figured it out. I left it up to a new employee and the issue was not with the clear media. For some reason, every now and then, my Summa cutter changes the alignment mode from XY OPOS to OPOS Barcode. The Summa was looking for a barcode instead of the black dot.
  15. Cutting clear decals on a Summa cutter

I printed some decals on a clear stock (GF 206) using my HP latex printer. After printing, I put the material in my Summa cutter to kiss cut the labels. However, the Summa is having problems recognizing the OPOS marks on the clear material. The clear material has a white backer. I get a...
