I have had this happen to a machine directly out of the box from HP.
Re-flash the firmware (even if it is already the most current) and it most often will correct the problem from what I have seen.
I started with the PC60, and it is not worth your time to try to print to it. print heads are expensive to replace and they eat them up! not to mention the thermal ribbons that it uses.
knowing what I know now, i should of just used the PC60 as a CUTTER not a printer.
I been running a Windows Home Server and have all the customer files, designs etc on it. I like it as it will allow for file duplication on the sever itself as well as back up every PC (max like 10) every night.
I been using logmein Hamachi for the VPN, or the Windows Home Server has a website...
Most common problem i the 2 shafts that the carriage runs on gets dry. I have used some Tri-Flow (bicycle chain lube) on a blue shop towel (leaves nothing behind) and lube the shaft and move the carriage by hand. Turn on the the printer and pull power after carrage moves from home position...
