For best overall I would say EFI or AGFA inks are amongst the top, but from my experience no one matches Fuji's ink for brightness with just using CMYK inks. It might also be a good pairing with the rip we use, colorgate profiles just seem better for color then others.
We went down to Fuji, Vanguard and EFI to check out their demo centres. EFI at the time was hands down the top contender, but the recent partnership with AGFA made buying one of their Hybrids a little risky. So we were left with Vanguard and Fuji. Vanguards machine are not bad, but unless you...
I use ColorGate, so not sure how Printfactory works, but if I base what I know from mine to here then you should have your limit set around 189 or 198. You want to set it where there is no more visible change with any of the colours. With CG I have it set to 300, and mine looks like your 189.
The black limits in the rip might be set high. I know some rips have a black point compensation that dumps a ton of ink to make a rich black, but often it too much. I have never used Print Factory, but it sounds like your black limits are set high. You can also make your artwork using only 100K...
Have you looked at the heads to see if there is anything on it? Even the tiniest bit of dust can collect ink and start drips on prints. Do a thorough manual clean and see if that clears it up. I get that sometimes on my machines and it just requires a little clearing up. You'll be surprised how...
It's the ink delivery system that sits on top of the print heads. The one with the ink lines going into, it's also called Duct CR just used to calling it damper from older machines.
Happens to me sometimes, run a clean and good as new. Never happens during a print unless media jam, so if it's during a print it could be damper needing to be replaced. If it's from sitting few a few days, then just needs a clean. I have 3 80600s, and never had a replace parts for this issue...
2 things, either run your feed calibration or just run it 8 pass HQ on uni. Solid colour can be a pain, if its large solid colours just run it uni, a little extra time is better then wasted media.
The dryer is needed even for the 80600, depending on the material and ink used. Using the metalic silver ink with no dryer is not going to set and stick to liners. Even reflective vinyls I find I need the dryer.
Strange, I have very little with smell with 3 running. The only strong smells we get is depending on the stock. Some 3M stock, 40C for example, smells when heated, but ink itself doesnt smell off mine.
We have 3 S80600 here, they've been great. Aside from lack of support here, reason why I started doing all the support myself, machines pump out work almost non-stop sometimes running all 3 even over night.
That has to do with the ink lines. After so many hours they recommend replacing the lines, but if you have no ink leaks no need to replace really. Just say yes to wanting to still use the part, confirm and it'll go away for about a week, then do it again. Only way to clear the error is using the...
